Medical update

We received a medical update from Holt Korea a few days ago. Yeon-ji is 17 lbs and very healthy. Now if they'd just send us a few more pictures.

Today Lisa and I received a referral for a baby girl from Korea! Her name is Yeon-ji, and she was born in July, 2007. She currently lives with a foster family just outside of Seoul. We are both very excited and looking forward to meeting her.

We now have a lot of work to do. There is what seems like an endless amount of paperwork to be done for the adoption. We need to figure out things like the baby's sleeping arrangements, and what to do about diapers. I still need to finish some drywall work in the play room. And, we need to decide on a name (Yeon-ji will most likely become her middle name). We look on all of this as part of the excitement.

I'll let everyone know as more developments occur.

Well, as many of you know by now, Lisa and I have decided to adopt a child from Korea. We are working with Holt International Children's Services here in Portland. Holt began the Korea adoption program in the 1950's, and we feel very comfortable with them.

We submitted our initial paperwork in November 2006, and then more paperwork (including the I600-A form) just a few days ago. All indications are that it will be at least a year before we are able to travel to Korea and bring home a child. So, the wait begins....
